Course
Overview:
This qualification is recognised as the industry standard entry
route to a career in Plant Operations; it is part of the Construction
Foundation Modern Apprenticeship framework and can also be assessed
via the OSAT route for experienced workers. This qualification is
a compulsory component along with the Health & Safety test for
candidates applying for their CSCS card.
Who the course is for:
This course is ideal if you are employed and experienced in this
particular sector of the building industry and would like to gain
a qualification.
Course Content:
This course involves the assessment of craft skills and job knowledge
that are required for work in the construction industry. You will,
in association with your assessor, produce a portfolio of your work
during the course.
Entry Requirements:
All students must be in employment so that we can assess you on
site. For applicants whose first language is not English you must
achieve an IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent.
Learning Methods:
On-site assessment will take place on employer premises.
Assessment Methods:
You will be assessed through continuous assessment, a portfolio
of evidence which you’ll produce during the course.
Qualifications Gained:
If you successfully complete the course you will gain an NVQ Level
2 in Plant Operations.
Progression Opportunities:
If you successfully complete this course you could progress to an
NVQ Level 3.
Career Possibilities:
If you complete NVQ Level 3, you will have fully qualified craftsman
status.
