The
International Accreditation Board (IAB) is an accreditation body
that assures integrity of the auditing process by monitoring compliance
of its member Certification Bodies (Registrars) to International
Auditing Standards. This is accomplished by comprehensive monitoring
of the audit process. This review encompasses audit reports, client
interviews and monitoring the certification status of auditors.
Certification Bodies (CB) that maintain compliance with established
policies may use the IAB logo on Certificates of Registration to
international standards. Membership with the International Accreditation
Board is voluntary.
All assessments performed by IAB Members are conducted
in accordance with the requirements of ISO Guide 48, EN 45012, ISO/IEC
Guide 62 or other international standard(s), as applicable, This
ensures that certification/registration bodies are both competent
to carry out the work involved and are operated independently of
businesses that are certified.
