Health & Safety Legislation

Course Duration: 1 Day

Who should take this course:
Personnel practitioners or line managers responsible for employment law issues. No prior knowledge of health and safety law is required.

Objectives:
To equip candidiates with an understanding of current UK health and safety law, and provide guidance on how to manage health and safety issues in the workplace

Course Content:

  • Health and safety requirements for the workplace
  • Roles and responsibilities of managers and employees
  • Health and safety management systems
  • Principles and practicalities of risk assessment and risk management options

Training Method:
Health and safety testing is now compulsory to achieve and retain CSCS and CPCS cards.

If you are working towards an NVQ and a Skilled Worker CSCS or CPCS card will need to take a 45 minute, computer touch-screen health and safety test. Once you have your CSCS or CPCS card you will need to retake the test every five years to ensure that you remain eligible to continue carrying the card.

The test is available for workers at different levels, depending on their occupation and level of qualification. The test can also be provided in a number of foreign languages upon request.
