CDM (Construction Design & Management) Regulations

Summary:
This course is intended for those who need to know and understand the implications of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994

Target:
All those involved in meeting the requirements of the regulations.

Entry requirements:
It is assumed that attendees will have some knowledge and experience of working with the regulations.

Outcome:
The course will provide delegates with an overall view of the requirements, roles and duties of all duty holders with specific emphasis on the individual duty holder/delegate's requirements.

Course content:

  • Introduction to Health and Safety, law and practices
  • Accident causation, prevention and reporting
  • Practical Risk Assessments
  • Hazard identification, risk level quantification, implementing control measures,
    monitoring and reviewing requirements
  • Developing and assessing safe systems of work and method statements
  • Background to the CDM Regulations, Where CDM applies and does not apply,
    roles and responsibilities under CDM
  • The client, the designer, the planning supervisor, principal contractor, contractors
  • The contents and development of the Health and Safety plans and file
  • Company specific issues
  • Questions and discussion
