Who should take this course:
Anyone whose work holds the potential to expose them to asbestos.
Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 (CAR 2006)
requires employers to ensure their staff have undergone suitable
asbestos awareness training so that they are aware of the potential
dangers they may face and also the procedures they must follow in
the event they are working in the vicinity of asbestos containing
materials.

Course content:
- The properties of asbestos and its effects on
health. (Specific attention is paid to the increased chance of
lung cancer to those workers who smoke)
- General procedures to be followed when dealing
with an emergency in the event of the uncontrolled release of
asbestos dust in the workplace
- How to avoid the risks from asbestos
Training method:
Asbestos awareness training comprises
written and oral presentations. Courses can be tailored to match
your site and employees’ needs.
